SCHOOL ENTRY:

16.0 Entry:

Admission to O-level secondary education  of four years is only after post primary education. Admission to Advanced level (“A” level) is only after two years post “O” level. General admission to above, or secondary education is on the basis of applicant's grades and profiles in the final examinations set by National Examination Council of Tanzania ( NECTA). Applicants with scores below the cuts points but who are eligible to enrol in a secondary may be admitted as part-time students, or joining one year upgrading course at the college. The final examination results are not good predictor of subsequent performances because of the extreme variability of the quality of primary and secondary education. In that sense, KAC admission of minimum qualified students serves to compensate for rural and remote areas disadvantages.

The introduction of ENTRY EXAMINATION is intended to compensate for this variability and should reduce wastage due to academic failure.

16.1 The entry qualification for CSEE is primary school leaving certificate (seven years education, from the age of 7 years to 14 years) the college sets the entry examination for the applicants. Those who only passed the entry examination to the required standard will be selected for the entry at the college.

16.2 The entry qualification for ACSEE is "O-Level" CSEE Certificate, with pass grade from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania.

16.3 All other professional courses the entry qualification will depend on the applicant’s level of education, technology qualification and working experience. Sometimes it will be necessary to seat for entry test.
