7.0 KAC Departments:
The following departments will be established to deal with all academics and non-academics matters at the college:
¨ Secondary education department.
¨ Technology and professional training..
¨ Continuing education.
¨ Language and communication skills.
8.0 Secondary education department.
The secondary education that will be offered by KAC, will be divided into two levels:
a) The first cycle is ordinary level (O-level), of four years.
b) The second cycle is Advanced level (“A” level) which is two years post “O” level. The cycle follows a national curriculum and examinations. It is divided between Science and Arts streams. It prepares students for tertiary and higher education as well as entry into the world of work.
8.1 Ordinary level secondary education (O-Level) for the duration of 4 years post primary education. Which will lead the student to: Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE).
With additional: Trade test certificate, grade II, from respective technical subjects.
8.2 Advance level secondary education(A-Level) that is two years post “O” level that will lead a student Advance Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSEE)
9.0 Programs offered by secondary and sciences education department.
9.1 Kisongo technology training college will offer the following programs for lower level Secondary education.
a) To carry on both science and art subjects offered in lower level secondary school curriculum provided by the Ministry of education.
b) To add extra curricula for practical oriented subjects to suite the examination requirements of National Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA).
c) To provide extra Computer Application subjects to enable the student to adopt him/her self in today's rapid changes in life and education as whole.
9.2 Kisongo Technology Training College will offer the following programs
for Upper level Secondary education.
a) To carry on art and science subjects offered in Upper level secondary school curriculum provided by the ministry of national education.
b) To add extra curricula for practical oriented subjects to suite the examination requirements of Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA).
c) To provide extra Computer Application subjects to enable the student to adopt him/her self in today's rapid changes in life and education as whole.
12.0 Department for continuing education.
Kisongo Academic College will recognizes the concerns to serve people who are working or for other reasons can study only in evenings or weekends the department of continuing education will concentrate on:
12.1 Short courses open to the general public and tailor made courses for specific clients
12.2 Development of distance learning programs
12.3 By using the satellite links and Internet technology available in the world, access to education resources can be increased tremendously throughout country with minimum human resources. KAC thinks to put together and offer home-study technology computer based programs to our technology professional students. This can be possible with collaboration with sister technology schools or colleges inside or outside the country.
12.4 The department of continuing education will arrange the technology hands-on training using mobile vans to rural and remote areas.
12.5 DCE will offer computer training and Information technology training to other secondary schools in rural area using mobile vans and lease Internet link.
